I was in Windsor yesterday to photograph the state visit of the French president Emmanuel Macron. One thing the UK always gets right as the pageantry and the pump and the organisation for such a enormous event as this one. I was on the wrong side of town to be able to see the carriages on the horse procession, but I did have an amazing view of the bands on their way to and from the Combermere Barracks to Windsor Castle.
Combermere Barracks serves as the home of the Household Cavalry Regiment, which includes the Life Guards and the Blues and Royals. The barracks are known for their historical significance and their role in ceremonial duties and armored vehicle operations.
